A founding member of "The Free Readers Ensemble", Mercita has been performing as an actress, singer and dancer since the age of 3.
Along with her work in television and radio commercials, and numerous stage roles, Mercita directs and acts in live radio shows with the AFTRA/SAG Senior Radio Players at the Chicago Cultural Center. She also tours Illinois as Jane Addams in "The Angel of Halsted Street," a one-woman show.
Mercita has performed at the Drury Lane Theater, Goodman Theater and Chicago Dramatists, as well as the Human Race Theatre Co. in Dayton, OH.
